Bored at Work

The last month or two I've been pretty busy here at work. Even last week I still felt decently busy. Well, I don't know what happened now, but suddenly I have nothing to do!! No emails to send, no annoying questions to answer, no charts to make, no places to visit, nothing to edit, nothing to organize, nothing.

Lame.

So today I took matters into my own hands. Here is a little peek into my day at work today:

Fortunately, Hannah is also here. She found MCC buttons. And made A LOT of boxes from 2009 calendars. Those mennonites, so good at recycling things :)

Ohhh...a MCC button in a MCC calendar box. Sneaky.

Vietnamese news is always entertaining. Notice the top two articles: praise from Singapore and praise for the Prime Minister. We're all about positive stories about our government here. Not that they aren't true, they definitely are. They just might have a slight one-sided bias. I think just about everyday is praise for some government department or another. Also, I just looked and the word "lauds" is on the front page of both yesterday and today's paper. I think someone at the newspaper is enjoying their thesaurus.

I worked on some collaging. Always a good use of time. I kind of miss doing crafts, making cards and other pretty things. Although I do have some great construction paper and markers to play with now (thanks to the Yost Family!)

Here is me and my development book in my little corner of the office.

I also have listened to a good selection of music, some Regina Spektor, A Fine Frenzy, Jose Gonzalez, and Breathe Owl Breathe (on Hannah's recommendation). I had a delicious cup of hot chocolate courtesy of Hannah this morning as well. Facebook supplied me with some interesting articles to read (gotta love when people post good things!) and I read a little bit on Haiti (poor poor Haiti. That country did not need more to deal with. Hopefully the relief work is beneficial in actually creating sustainable development). And I ate phỏ bò for lunch. Oh, and now I've written a blog.

Now I have about 2 more hours to kill....hmmmm.....

  1. and you wrote "Yost family."

sorry, I usually try to refrain from obsessive editing of friends (I've found it turns people off) but I just thought was funny.

Also, I have plenty of work but am really excited to come to MCC tomorrow...hopefully you're not sick of crafts yet?
