And I'm off! Well, kind of...

If the first day of this year is any indication of what is to come, it is going to be quite a great story! This morning began with getting up bright and early for my 6am flight to Akron, PA (place of orientation before leaving next Saturday for Viet Nam). We boarded the plane as usual and than sat there. And sat there. And then we un-boarded and preceded to sit in PDX for a total of 6 hours! Luckily, MCC is very good to me and the girl who was sitting next to me is going with them for the year to Bolivia. Not only did I have her as a friend, but the other woman in our row was great and joined us for the day too. So the three of us sat and waited together. And honestly it went by really fast. Eventually, after a lot of good stories and a lot of laughing, we made it to Chicago, but no further. So now, on my first big day of my year long adventure, I am sitting in a hotel near O'Hare, paid for by United, preparing for my second 6am flight. It has been a long day and I am ready to get there, but if every thing that went wrong this year could be this much fun, I'd be one lucky girl :)
