Yesterday I ventured out for the first time by myself! I realize that sounds weird, but at this point Calah and I are always together and there isn't much reason to be alone. But yesterday we weren't and I needed to get back to Derek's house from the office. So I decided to go for a walk! I got a general idea of where to go from Derek, then headed out in a new direction, walked along a river, crossed the street by myself (!!) and found my way home! It was a very exciting moment.

Here is the river (it may not be a river, there a lots of bodies of water throughout Hanoi and I have yet to figure out what they all are technically)

Typical houses and shops. Most are stores on the first level and than one house on the next couple (it's not uncommon for houses to be 4 or 5 stories)

I am most proud that you crossed the street all by yourself. A BIG DEAL!
